Freinds & Family | Orcas Island Family Photographer

How is this for behind!  I did this shoot back in August! Gah!!  We have property on one of the San Juan Islands here in WA, Orcas Island to be specific.  This property has been in my husbands family since before he was born.  There is not a structure on the property, just an out house.  We go a few times a summer to camp.   Orcas Island is such a special place.  We always feel so peaceful and relaxed there.  Our property looks out onto the sound and is surrounded by trees.  We love camping and bringing our kids there to experience nature and life unplugged.

This past summer our good friends joined us for one of our trips.   We had so much fun just hiking, playing in the woods, cooking by the lake,  just being.  We let the kids run wild and run wild they did!! It is hard to believe that we have known these friends for nearly 5 years!  While we were there, we managed to get a quick family session in.  I don’t know how we did it because we were grungy from camping and we may or may not have had a little too much fun the night before this shoot. ;)We were all tired.  But, we did and I am so glad we made it happen.

Enjoy! These images make me long for summer when we will visit Orcas again.

A Third Baby Girl | Seattle Maternity Photographer

To say that I loved this maternity photography session is an understatement!  I wanted to share every single photograph I took of this beautiful mama and her family!   You may be saying, well didn’t you?  Yes, I blogged a ton, but this was a full gallery.  This is why I am an all inclusive photographer.  I can’t stand to not edit every fantastic image from a shoot and it pains me to think of a client having to choose which ones they want.  We had gorgeous backlit images, gorgeous full sun shots, and many open shade shots.  The sun literally came out just for our session.  There was love and laughter and some sweet quiet moments.  It was perfect.

This mama found me on Clickinmoms, the photography forum where I am a pro and a mentor.  She purchased my maternity package and I am so glad she did.  I wish more of my newborn clients would do this.  Pregnancy is such a fleeting time, and while it comes with it’s discomforts, it is a time to be treasured and remembered.   I just got the e mail that she delivered her healthy baby girl yesterday!  I so look forward to her newborn photography session next week.

Enjoy this gorgeous expecting mother and her family!

Silly Girls | Seattle Family Photographer

Still playing catch up from the fall!  So many wonderful sessions that all need their own blog post.

I have known this family for 4 years now.  Our kiddos are at the same school and mama and I served on the board of our cooperative preschool together.  When we met, these girls were not happy about two things, 1. having to wear certain clothing for a photo shoot and 2. having a photo shoot.;)  Well, you would never know it because they are both incredibly photogenic.  Lucky for them I am super fast!  I can get a shoot done in under an hour and feel lucky to say that I can usually capture a child’s spirit in that time too.  These girls had the giggles and it was so fun to capture that.

Enjoy this beautiful family!
