Newborn At Home | Seattle Newborn Photographer

Sometimes there are moments when I think having a studio would be pretty cool.  Then I get into the home of a family with a newborn and I quickly realize that I never want to give up my newborn portraits in the home.  While I always capture traditional posed newborn portraits, I adore lifestyle newborn photography as well.  I love being able to blend them both to give my clients a gallery full of a variety of images.  I get asked often, “does a newborn shoot really take 2-4 hours?”  The answer.  Yes.  Is it worth it.  Yes. Yes. Yes.  Newborns take patience but it is so worth it.

I photographed this sweet baby girl’s sister just 15 months ago.  As you can see, her sister has grown into a beautiful little girl. :)  I love getting to know my clients and watching their families grow.  I am a very lucky girl.

Family At The Park | Seattle Family Photography

This is my sisters beautiful family.  We try and get photos of them at least once a year.  These two little girls are so full of personality and sass, pretty much us when we were little girls.  But the good news is, sassy little girls grow up to be successful, confident adults, right mom?  At least we all did!

We met at a local Seattle park and had a lot of fun.  Enjoy!

Freinds & Family | Orcas Island Family Photographer

How is this for behind!  I did this shoot back in August! Gah!!  We have property on one of the San Juan Islands here in WA, Orcas Island to be specific.  This property has been in my husbands family since before he was born.  There is not a structure on the property, just an out house.  We go a few times a summer to camp.   Orcas Island is such a special place.  We always feel so peaceful and relaxed there.  Our property looks out onto the sound and is surrounded by trees.  We love camping and bringing our kids there to experience nature and life unplugged.

This past summer our good friends joined us for one of our trips.   We had so much fun just hiking, playing in the woods, cooking by the lake,  just being.  We let the kids run wild and run wild they did!! It is hard to believe that we have known these friends for nearly 5 years!  While we were there, we managed to get a quick family session in.  I don’t know how we did it because we were grungy from camping and we may or may not have had a little too much fun the night before this shoot. ;)We were all tired.  But, we did and I am so glad we made it happen.

Enjoy! These images make me long for summer when we will visit Orcas again.
